The Drama SCITT course will give you the opportunity to observe practice and teach lessons in carefully selected partnership schools where Drama is taught as a discrete subject. This opportunity is invaluable, as you will have the experience of working with experienced drama teachers who will act as your mentors throughout the programme. Furthermore, you will see Drama being taught in a variety of educational settings preparing you fully for embarking upon your teaching career at the end of the course.

• being based a school which has excellent facilities including 4 black box drama studios.
• covering all elements of secondary drama teaching including exploring key drama educationalists such as Heathcote, Bolton and Neelands and how process drama can be used across the curriculum.  How to teach texts, theatre practitioners and aspects of theatre integral to GCSE, A Level and vocational specifications is central to the course.
• enabling you to participate in practical drama sessions allowing you to reflect on your experience from the point of view of both teacher and pupil.
• including assignments that are embedded into the subject studies sessions that allow you to share your growing knowledge of drama in education and plan a sequence of imaginative lessons to deliver in the classroom.  Reflection allows you to think about the impact your teaching is having on the progress pupils are making in the classroom.  This will support you in becoming a creative practitioner.
