Before Applying

BEFORE YOU APPLY YOU NEED TO CHECK YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

Achieved a standard equivalent to a grade 4 (C) in the GCSE mathematics and English. If you are applying for primary you also need a grade 4 (C) in Science. If you do not have these qualifications or equivalencies please make it clear on your UCAS application as the SCITT can offer equivalency tests..

A UK honours degree which must be related to your chosen subject in which you wish to train. If you want to teach a shortage subject and have the relevant A Levels or work experience in that field you are still able to apply and if successful the SCITT will access Subject Knowledge Enhancement programmes for you prior to commencing the training. Subject Knowledge Enhancement are currently under review by the Department of Education for 2021/22

Primary applicants will need a UK honours degree in any subject.

If you were awarded your degree abroad please seek degree equivalency from NARIC. If you are uncertain on how to do this, contact our SCITT manager.
